NTCIP 8002, "The NTCIP Standards Format," is a Process, Control, and Information Management series document. The document defines the general rules for the content and format of NTCIP documents.

In 1999 -- AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA assigned the new NTCIP document numbers.

NTCIP documents that were writtenprior to the development of this standard format generally followed the NEMA NS-1 format.

A draft is not yet available for public download.

The document will only be offered for distribution in a PDF file from the NTCIP Web site Library. The document is not planned for printed distribution and sale.

FORECAST:

In 2003 -- A document revision is expected to incorporate ongoing format revisions associated with the PICS, systems engineering content (user requirements, concept of operations, functional requirements, requirements traceability matrix, etc.), and test procedures. A public review draft is expected in 2003.
