NTCIP 8001, "The NTCIP Standardization Process," is a Process, Control, and Information Management series document. The document defines the policies and procedures for development and maintenance of NTCIP documents.

In 1999 -- AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA assigned the new document number to a revised draft, which replaced the former white paper. NTCIP standards that were written and recommended prior to the development of NTCIP 8001 followed the policies and procedures of AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA, as combined according to the "Joint AASHTO/ITE/NEMA Committee on the NTCIP Standards Development Process" white paper.

A draft is not yet available for public download.

The document will only be offered for distribution in a PDF file from the NTCIP Web site Library. The document is not planned for printed distribution and sale.
