In July 1999 -- 2202 was accepted as a Recommended Standard by the Joint Committee. 2202 had previously been named TS_3.TUI, but was changed to TP-Internet to be more descriptive.

In January 2000 -- Standards Bulletin B0043 sent 2202 v01.04 to AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA for balloting and approval.

In May 2001 -- NTCIP 2202 v01.04 was Jointly Approved. 2202 was approved as a Standard by AASHTO in May 2000; it was approved by ITE in May 2001; and it was approved by NEMA in January 2001.

In March 2002 -- the printed version of the Joint Standards Publication NTCIP 2202:2001 was available for order. NTCIP 2202:2001 is version v01.05, December 2001. The printed version included updated introductory information and references.
