Document Status:

Date submitted: 6/16/2005

In 1996-1997 -- NEMA balloted and approved NEMA TS_3.3, "NTCIP Class B Profile". In 1997, AASHTO and ITE balloted and approved the Recommended Standard NEMA TS_3.3-1996.

In 1999 -- NEMA TS_3.3-1996 was assigned document number NTCIP 2001:1996.

In 1998 -- maintenance of NTCIP 2001 was transferred from the NEMA Section's Technical Committee to the new Profiles WG of the Joint Committee.

In 1998 -- the Profiles WG developed 2001 Amendment 1, 98.01.07, November 1998, to respond to user comments from implementation. NTCIP 2001 Amendment 1 is Jointly Approved. Amendment 1 was approved by NEMA in August 1999; approved by AASHTO in October 1999; and approved by ITE in January 2001. The NTCIP 2001 Amendment 1 carries the title "Recommended Amendment to TS_3.3-1996," draft v98.01.07, with the filename ts33amendment1-v7.pdf, available below.

January 2005 -- the NTCIP Joint Committee recommended rescinding NTCIP 2001. In June 2005, NTCIP Standards Bulletin B0105 requested the SDOs take action to rescind. NEMA rescinded NTCIP 2001 in November 2004; AASHTO rescinded in **TBD**; and ITE rescinded in **TBD**.

FORECAST:

No further amendments or new versions are planned. NTCIP 2001 is recommended for recision because the technical specifications have been tranferred to the other application, transport, and subnetwork profiles. It is recommended that procurements refer to NTCIP 2301 (AP-STMF), NTCIP 2201 (TP-Null), and NTCIP 2101 or 2102 (SP-PMPP) rather than NTCIP 2001.
