| Library: 1603 - CORBA-Specific Reference Model (CSRM) for Traffic Management | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Document Status: Date submitted: 5/10/2005
In August 2002 -- With funding from the FHWA, a project team started development work on NTCIP 1602, "Generic Reference Model for Traffic Management." NTCIP 1602 will be one of two reference models for Center-to-Center communications. The GRM will be a protocol-independent model, suitable for use with both object-oriented implementations and for message-based implementations, such as DATEX-ASN. The CORBA-Specific Reference Model (CSRM) will be derived from the GRM, with CORBA-specific features added to enable interoperable CORBA implementations. Scope of 1603 -- The CSRM will be derived from the GRM, with the messages translated to their CORBA equivalents. Data-distribution messages will be translated to NRTDS messages, and command messages will become methods on the CORBA objects. The IDL for the CSRM will be included in the second working draft of the CSRM document, after C2C WG comments on the first draft have been reviewed. CORBA is the Common Object Request Broker Architecture, and UML is the Unified Modeling Language. Visit the Object Management Group at www.omg.org for more information. A draft is not yet available for public download. May 2005 -- the NTCIP Center to Center Working Group has suspended the work on this standard. There are only three known deployments using CORBA and no known plans for future use. This standard is withdrawn. ###
